Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Cut the peaches in half and remove the pits.

In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and lemon juice. Brush the cut side of the peaches with the sugar mixture.

Grill the peaches, cut side down, for about 4-5 minutes or until grill marks appear. Remove from the grill and let cool slightly.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the milk and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Pour the batter into a greased baking dish. Arrange the grilled peaches on top of the batter.

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Let the cobbler cool for 10 minutes before serving. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
