  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  2. Roll out the shortcrust pastry and line a tart tin with it.
  3. Spread the cherry jam on top of the pastry.
  4. In a separate bowl, cream together the ground almonds, unsalted butter, and caster sugar.
  5. Add the eggs and almond extract to the mixture and mix well.
  6. Pour the mixture over the cherry jam in the tart tin.
  7. Sprinkle the flaked almonds on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 1 hour.
  10. Dust with icing sugar before serving.
