Peel and boil the potatoes until tender. Mash them and set aside.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well.

Add the mashed potatoes, butter, milk, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and divide it into 8 equal portions. Shape each portion into a ball.

Place the dough balls on a greased baking sheet, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Bake the rolls for 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
