The marbled royal cheesecake gets its name from the beautiful marbled pattern created by swirling together the plain and cocoa cream cheese mixtures.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Crush the digestive biscuits and mix them with melted butter.

Press the biscuit mixture into the bottom of a greased springform pan.

In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth.

Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Stir in the vanilla extract.

Pour half of the cream cheese mixture over the biscuit base.

Add cocoa powder to the remaining cream cheese mixture and mix well.

Pour the cocoa mixture over the plain cream cheese mixture.

Use a knife to create a marbled effect.

Bake for 60 minutes or until the center is set.

Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake rest in the oven for 2 hours.

Remove from the oven and let it cool completely.
