In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until just combined.

Divide the batter in half. Stir the cocoa powder into one half of the batter.

Spread the plain batter evenly into the prepared baking pan. Drop spoonfuls of the chocolate batter on top. Use a knife to swirl the two batters together to create a marbled effect.
