Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small saucepan, combine the guava paste, cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, and evaporated milk. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is smooth and well combined. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and vanilla extract together. Gradually add the cooled guava mixture to the beaten eggs, stirring constantly.
  4. In a small saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring constantly, until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture has thickened slightly. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
  5. Pour the guava mixture into individual ramekins or a large baking dish. Place the ramekins or baking dish in a larger baking pan. Pour hot water into the larger pan, creating a water bath.
  6. Carefully transfer the baking pan to the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the flan is set and slightly jiggly in the center.
  7. Remove the flan from the oven and let it cool to room temperature. Then, refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight, to allow it to set completely.
  8. Before serving, run a knife around the edges of the ramekins or baking dish to loosen the flan. Invert the flan onto a serving plate, allowing the caramel sauce to drizzle over the top. Serve chilled.
