  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and granulated sugar.
  3. Cut in the unsalted butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.
  5. Press two-thirds of the mixture into the bottom of a greased 9x9-inch baking dish.
  6. Spread the grape jelly evenly over the crust.
  7. Crumble the remaining dough over the jelly layer.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool in the baking dish for 30 minutes before cutting into bars.
  10. Serve and enjoy!
