Granny Wallace’s Shortbread Cookies
Shortbread cookies originated in Scotland and have been enjoyed for centuries. They are traditionally made with just three ingredients: butter, sugar, and flour.

Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).

In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

In a separate bowl, combine the flour and cornstarch.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch (6 cm) thickness.

Cut the dough into desired shapes using cookie cutters.

Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.

Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
