Gooey Chocolate Cookies
Chocolate chip cookies were invented by Ruth Graves Wakefield in 1938. She added chopped up bits from a Nestle semi-sweet chocolate bar into a cookie recipe, expecting the chocolate to melt and disperse throughout the dough. Instead, the chocolate retained its shape, creating the first chocolate chip cookie.
