  5. Divide the dough into two equal parts.
  6. Add food coloring to one part of the dough if desired.
  7. Roll out each portion of dough into a rectangle shape.
  8. Place the colored dough on top of the plain dough.
  9. Roll the dough tightly into a log shape.
  10. Wrap the log in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  11. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  12. Slice the chilled dough into 1/4-inch thick slices and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
