George’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
The first chocolate chip cookie was invented by Ruth Graves Wakefield in the 1930s when she ran out of baker’s chocolate and decided to use semi-sweet chocolate chips instead.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Stir in the chocolate chips.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.

Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
