Cook macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and mustard powder. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Continue cooking and stirring until the mixture thickens.

Remove from heat and stir in cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper.

Add cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the macaroni and cheese mixture to a baking dish.
