  2. Add mushrooms and cook until they release their liquid.
  3. Sprinkle flour over the mushrooms and stir well.
  4. Slowly pour in vegetable broth while stirring.
  5. Bring to a simmer and cook for 20 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  7. Use an immersion blender to puree the soup until smooth.
  8. Return the pot to the heat and stir in the heavy cream.
  9. Season with salt, black pepper, and fresh thyme.
  10. Cook for another 5 minutes.
  11. Serve hot, garnished with chives.
