  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, salt, and fresh herbs.
  3. Cut in the butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg.
  5. Add the milk mixture to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  6. Transfer the dough to a greased loaf pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes.
  9. Transfer the loaf to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
