Frog-eye Salad
Frog-eye salad is a traditional dish in the western United States, especially popular in Utah. Despite its name, it does not contain actual frog eyes, but rather small round pasta called Acini di pepe.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 90 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 12.

Cook the Acini di pepe pasta according to package instructions. Drain and rinse with cold water.

In a saucepan, whisk together sugar, egg, flour, salt, pineapple juice, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and let cool.

In a large bowl, combine cooked pasta, pineapple chunks, mandarin oranges, maraschino cherries, and miniature marshmallows.

Fold in the cooled sauce and whipped topping.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
