Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream, egg, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Gently fold in the chopped strawberries. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times to bring it together.

Shape the dough into a circle, about 1 inch thick. Cut into 8 wedges and transfer them to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
