  2. In a medium bowl, combine oats, flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the butter mixture and mix until well combined. Stir in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts.
  5. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared cake pan.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
