  2. Melt the chocolate and butter together in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water, stirring until smooth.

  4. Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the egg mixture, whisking constantly.
  5. Sift in the flour, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  8. Remove from the oven and let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
