Add sugar, water, and salt to the saucepan. Stir until the sugar dissolves.

Continue to cook the mixture, stirring frequently, until it reaches 300°F (150°C) on a candy thermometer.

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.

Pour the toffee mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread it evenly.

Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot toffee and let it sit for a few minutes until the chocolate melts. Then, spread the melted chocolate evenly over the toffee.

Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the chocolate.

Allow the toffee to cool completely and set for about 1 hour.
