Bananas are technically berries, while figs are actually inverted flowers.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.

In a separate bowl, mix together the mashed bananas, brown sugar, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract.

Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.

Fold in the chopped dried figs and walnuts.

Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a muffin comes out clean.
