Bread pudding is a traditional Southern dessert that was originally created as a way to use up stale bread.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.

Cut the bread into cubes and place them in the prepared baking dish.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, and cinnamon.

Pour the milk mixture over the bread cubes, making sure all the bread is soaked.

Sprinkle raisins on top.

Dot the butter over the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the pudding is set and golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before serving.
