The Dutch Baby pancake is said to have originated in Germany, not the Netherlands, despite its name.

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Place a 10-inch cast iron skillet or oven-safe frying pan in the oven while it preheats.

In a blender, combine flour, milk, eggs, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Blend until smooth.

Carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven and add butter. Swirl the skillet to coat it with the melted butter.

Pour the batter into the hot skillet and immediately return it to the oven.

Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the Dutch Baby is puffed and golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
