Dutch Apple Pie
Dutch Apple Pie is traditionally topped with a streusel crumb topping, unlike the double-crust used in other apple pie variations.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Roll out the pie crust and place it in a 9-inch pie dish.

Peel, core, and slice the apples.

In a large bowl, combine the sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.

Add the sliced apples to the bowl and toss until coated.

Pour the apple mixture into the pie crust.

Dot the top of the apples with small pieces of butter.

Roll out the remaining pie crust and place it on top of the apples.

Trim and crimp the edges of the pie crust.

Cut slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape.

Bake the pie for 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.

Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.
