Dsf’s Pretzel Bread
Pretzels originated in Europe and have been enjoyed for centuries. They were traditionally associated with Lent and were given to children as rewards for learning their prayers.
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 105 minutes. Recipe requires some culinary experience (medium difficulty). Number of ingredients: 8.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt.

In a separate bowl, dissolve baking soda in warm water.

Slowly add the baking soda mixture to the flour mixture and knead until a smooth dough forms.

Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and shape each portion into a pretzel shape.

Place the pretzels on the prepared baking sheet.

In a small saucepan, melt the butter.

Brush the melted butter over the pretzels and sprinkle with pretzel salt.

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let cool before serving.
