Cinnamon Rolls With Gossipy Sweet Roll Dough
Cinnamon rolls are believed to have originated in Sweden, where they are known as ‘kanelbulle’. They are traditionally enjoyed with a cup of coffee.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt for the dough. Mix well.

Heat the milk until warm and add it to the dry ingredients along with melted butter and egg. Stir until a soft dough forms.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rest for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle on a floured surface.

Spread softened butter evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle the mixture over the buttered dough.

Starting from the long side, tightly roll up the dough into a log.

Cut the log into 12 equal-sized rolls.

Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Bake the rolls for 20 minutes or until golden brown.

In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the glaze.
