  2. In another saucepan, heat milk over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
  3. In a small bowl, mix cocoa powder, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Add this mixture to the hot milk and stir until well combined.
  4. Drain the cooked tapioca pearls and add them to the milk mixture. Cook for another 5 minutes, stirring continuously.
  5. Remove from heat and let the pudding rest for 30 minutes.
  6. Divide the pudding into serving bowls and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  7. Before serving, top with whipped cream and sprinkle with chocolate shavings.
