Chocolate Muffins
The first chocolate muffin recipe was published in 1901 in ‘The Boston Cooking-School Magazine of Culinary Science and Domestic Economics’.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a muffin tin or line with paper liners.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Stir in the chocolate chips.

Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.

Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
