  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until combined.
  6. Roll the dough into a log shape and wrap it in plastic wrap. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
  7. Slice the dough into 1/4-inch thick rounds and place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

  10. Melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth.
