Chocolate-coconut Cookies
Chocolate chip cookies were invented by Ruth Graves Wakefield in 1938 when she added chopped up bits from a Nestle semi-sweet chocolate bar into a cookie recipe.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until well combined.

Stir in the shredded coconut and chocolate chips.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
