  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
