Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a cupcake pan with paper liners.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg, milk, and vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Fold in the cherries.

Fill each cupcake liner 2/3 full with the batter. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar and lemon juice to make the glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cupcakes.
