Cheesy Shells with Tomatoes and Corn
Macaroni and cheese, a similar dish, has been enjoyed since the 14th century, but it wasn’t until the 1930s that Kraft introduced the boxed version and made it a popular convenience food.

Cook the shell pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and garlic powder, stirring constantly for 1 minute.

Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.

Stir in the cooked pasta, tomatoes, corn kernels, salt, and black pepper.

Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20 minutes, or until bubbly and golden.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Garnish with fresh chopped basil before serving.
