Sprinkle the flour over the onion and garlic mixture, stirring constantly for 1 minute.

Slowly pour in the vegetable broth, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.

Add the broccoli florets and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the broccoli is tender.

Use an immersion blender or transfer the soup to a blender to puree until smooth.

Return the soup to the pot and stir in the milk and cheddar cheese until melted and well combined.
