Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Peel and dice the butternut squash. Boil it until tender, then drain and mash it.

Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions, then drain.

In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour, garlic powder, nutmeg, salt, and black pepper. Cook for 1 minute.

Gradually whisk in the milk until smooth. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens.

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the mashed butternut squash and cheddar cheese until melted.

In a baking dish, combine the cooked macaroni and the cheese sauce. Mix well.

In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, and parsley. Sprinkle the breadcrumb mixture over the macaroni.
