Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the cake flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

In a large bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar until pale and thick. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually sift in the dry ingredients and fold gently until just combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Meanwhile, prepare the filling by whipping the heavy cream and powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.

Invert the cake onto a clean kitchen towel dusted with cocoa powder. Remove the parchment paper and roll the cake tightly with the towel. Let it cool completely.

Roll out the marzipan into a thin rectangle. Cut out mushroom shapes and color the tops with green food coloring.

Unroll the cake and spread the whipped cream filling evenly. Roll the cake back up and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
