Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Cut the cold butter into small cubes and add it to the flour mixture. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to cut the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk and egg. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

Gently fold in the blueberries.

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it a few times until it comes together. Pat the dough into a circle about 1 inch thick.

Use a round biscuit cutter to cut out scones from the dough. Place the scones onto the prepared baking sheet.
