The Bloomin’ Onion Bread is a popular appetizer inspired by the famous Bloomin’ Onion dish served at the Outback Steakhouse.

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the loaf of bread horizontally and vertically, creating a grid pattern, but make sure not to cut through the bottom crust.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter and stir in the garlic powder.
  4. Brush the butter mixture all over the bread, making sure to get in between the slices.
  5. Slice the onion into thin strips and stuff them into the bread, again making sure to get in between the slices.
  6. Sprinkle parsley over the top of the bread.
  7. Wrap the bread in foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil, sprinkle shredded cheese over the bread, and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted and golden.
  9. Let the bread rest for 5 minutes before serving.
