Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

In a medium bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, flour, and salt until crumbly. Press into the prepared baking dish.

Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until firm and golden.

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, lemon zest, lemon juice, and powdered sugar until well blended. Pour over the baked crust.

Bake for an additional 25 minutes in the preheated oven. The bars will firm up as they cool.

Allow to cool completely in the baking dish before cutting into squares.
