Award Winning Macaroni and Cheese
Macaroni and cheese originated in Italy, but it became popular in the United States during the 18th century. Thomas Jefferson, the third President of the United States, is known for serving macaroni and cheese at a state dinner in 1802.

Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until it forms a paste.

Gradually whisk in the milk, mustard powder, salt, and black pepper. Continue cooking and stirring until the sauce thickens.

Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the cheddar and mozzarella cheese until melted and smooth.

Add the cooked macaroni to the cheese sauce and mix well.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Transfer the macaroni and cheese mixture to a baking dish.

Sprinkle bread crumbs on top of the macaroni and cheese.

Bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
