  2. In a large bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the butter using a pastry cutter or your hands until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Press half of the oat mixture into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Spread the apricot preserves evenly over the oat layer. Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture on top and press lightly.
