Apple & Mulberry Cobbler
Cobblers originated in the British American colonies and were originally made with a savory meat filling. The sweet fruit version became popular in the 19th century.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a mixing bowl, combine the apples, mulberries, and sugar. Mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Cut the butter into small pieces and add it to the flour mixture. Use your fingers to rub the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs.

Add the milk to the flour mixture and stir until just combined.

Pour the fruit mixture into a baking dish and spread it evenly.

Drop spoonfuls of the dough mixture on top of the fruit, covering it as much as possible.

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.

Remove from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
