In a food processor, pulse the walnuts and dried cranberries until finely chopped.

In a bowl, combine the softened butter, chopped walnuts and cranberries, orange zest, and brown sugar.

Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Transfer the mixture onto a sheet of plastic wrap.

Roll the butter mixture into a log shape, using the plastic wrap to help form a tight log.

Twist the ends of the plastic wrap to secure the log shape.

Refrigerate the compound butter for at least 30 minutes to allow it to firm up.
