  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F), and line a baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Melt butter and dark chocolate together in a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Gradually pour the melted chocolate mixture into the sugar and egg mixture, stirring until well combined.
  5. Sift in the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped walnuts.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  9. Remove from the oven and let the brownies cool in the dish for 30 minutes.
  10. Lift the brownies out of the dish using the parchment paper and allow them to cool completely on a wire rack.
  11. Cut into squares and serve.
