The first lava cake was created by French chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten in New York City in the 1980s.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

Grease 4 ramekins with butter and dust with flour.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate and butter together.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and salt.

Add the melted white chocolate and butter mixture to the flour mixture and whisk until well combined.

Divide the batter evenly among the prepared ramekins.

Place the ramekins on a baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes or until the edges are set and the center is still slightly jiggly.

Remove from the oven and let the cakes rest in the ramekins for 5 minutes.

Carefully invert each ramekin onto a serving plate and gently tap to release the cake.

Serve warm with fresh raspberries and a dusting of powdered sugar.
