The chocolate chip cookie was invented by Ruth Graves Wakefield in 1938. She ran out of baker’s chocolate and decided to break up semi-sweet chocolate into small pieces, expecting it to melt and mix into the dough. However, the chocolate pieces retained their shape, creating the first chocolate chip cookies!
This is vegetarian recipe. Dish can be prepared in 55 minutes. Even a beginner can handle preparing this dish. Number of ingredients: 9.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).

In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.

Add the egg and vanilla extract to the bowl and mix well.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips.

Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
