Cherries are a good source of antioxidants and are believed to have anti-inflammatory properties.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

In a separate bowl, mix together the melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk.

Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.

Fold in the chopped walnuts and dried cherries.

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
