  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients, alternating with the milk.
  6. Divide the batter evenly into separate bowls, depending on the number of colors desired.
  7. Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl and mix until the desired colors are achieved.
  8. Spoon a small amount of each colored batter into each cupcake liner, creating a tie-dye effect.
  9. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
