Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, cream together butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with milk. Mix until well combined.
  4. Divide the dough into two equal portions. Add green food coloring to one portion and mix until the desired shade of green is achieved.
  5. Shape the green dough into a cone shape to resemble a Christmas tree. Place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Roll out the plain dough and cut out different-sized star shapes using cookie cutters. Place the stars on the tree-shaped dough, starting from the bottom and working your way up.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 12-15 minutes or until lightly golden.
  8. In a small bowl, mix powdered sugar and water to make a glaze. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled Christmas tree treats.
  9. Decorate with assorted colored candies.
  10. Allow the glaze to set for about an hour before serving.
