Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, whole wheat flour, and ground almonds.

In a separate bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Mix in the vanilla extract and salt.

Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined.

Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Use your thumb or the back of a spoon to make an indentation in the center of each cookie.

Fill each indentation with a teaspoon of jam or fruit preserves.

Sprinkle the toasted nuts on top of the cookies.

Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.

Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
