Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
Roll out the puff pastry and cut it into a circle slightly larger than the size of your skillet.
-
Peel and core the apples, then cut them into halves or quarters.
-
Melt the butter in a 10-inch ovenproof skillet over medium heat. Add the sugar, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture starts to bubble.
-
Arrange the apple halves or quarters in the skillet, rounded side down, in a circular pattern.
-
Cook the apples for about 15 minutes, until they start to soften and release their juices.
-
Remove the skillet from the heat and carefully place the puff pastry circle on top of the apples, tucking the edges down around the apples.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown and crisp.
-
Remove the skillet from the oven and let it rest for 10 minutes.
-
Place a serving plate on top of the skillet and carefully flip the tart onto the plate.
-
Serve warm and enjoy!
